This is a cute book. Would have been a fun read BUT - andand it's a biggy: it does not correctly fit the screen for many of the pages.
Would have given higher rating it correctly fit the screen.
Very nice book with a great "hidden meaning"! My only issues where in two places: 1st, Although he was seen with the kookaburra family, they made it sound as if he was not there this day; 2nd, Joey told the Canadian friends that he was going to visit Mrs. Quokka but it indicated that he did not do that. It's important for kids to follow through on what they say they'll do. Otherwise a nice story with superb illustrations!
Bought this for my 4-year old daughter. We've probably read it together more than 30 times now. The story is very endearing, and the characters are illustrated in a charming and lovable way.
Also, the maps of Australia in the front and back of the book are a nice addition. We sometimes use these maps to imagine the path that the mother kangaroo travels in her search for her Joey.
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. I was reading this book to my 6 year old daughter when in the middle of the book another book was included in the story. After several pages the original story finished. Was very disappointed. My daughter didn't even understand why the book was messed up.
Where's My Joey? Is a delightful children's story about a mother kangaroo who cannot find her baby right away. With the help of some Australian friends, does she finally find him? Lovely illustrations too.
At first I was disappointed in the story. Then I was annoyed. Then I threw it out. It was that annoying.
This book is very well illustrated that includes, maps of Australia, and unique animals that inhabit the area. I plan to share this book with my second grade students and 4 year old daughter.
