I didn’t know much about Greek mythology before reading this so it all seems so real to me. The different gods and goddesses are very interesting. I love Poseidon and Hades. Ares is a pain in the ass for no good reason. Theres is in love with Death, Thanatos. She can’t be in his presence without dying. But in her dreams, she can. If she completes a set of challenges, she will become a goddess. After that, she must find her purpose of she will return to being mortal. But what purpose will she choose? All the good ones are taken.
Thanatos is sexy and has a good personality. I really like his character. Now that the author has went back and made Therese older, it has made a huge difference. I never felt she was as young as the original text. There was just too much responsibility and decisions to make at the younger age. Not that it wouldn’t be possible. I listened to the audiobooks to these plus read some. The narrator is excellent.

I found this was easy to get through. The author made the gods very relatable and fun to read.
I liked the mythology and the interaction of the characters. The story carries on page after page. Good read for young and old
Keeping in mind this is a YA series...this was not a bad read. As some others have mentioned, the writing style and character dialogue is very basic, but again, this is a YA series so that is to be expected. Personally, I enjoy a brain break in reading form from time to time, and this was one such thing for me. This whole idea that the gods interact with mortals for play, etc is an interesting one. The main romance throughout the story is really quite irrational, and the things the main character is able to make her guardians believe are incredibly flimsy and unrealistic. Anyway, the story still managed to be enjoyable, so long as I was prepared to simply go with the flow without much critical thought. :)
Thoroughly enjoyed this series. It was an interesting change in familiar stories in mythology.
I received book 1 as a freebie, along with various other first books. When I finished this book, I had to buy book 2, and when I finished that one, I bought the rest!! Author did excellent job with characters, plots, and everything in between!!!! I had hard time putting down, even stayed up late!!! Im not one to give a description of book, im just going to tell you, the series is incredible and a must buy!!! You wont be disappointed!!!
OMG!!! Eva hits one out of the park with this first three books of the Gatekeeper Saga! I just fell in love with all the characters in this set, from Therese to Hades to Meg and so forth. Eva is such a great author and I was in awe when I had the privilege to meet her in person. Such a lovely lady and down to earth.
I found it convenient to get all six in one instead of downloading them each individually. On the downside, there is no way, aside from checking table of contents, to see how far along you are or how much is left.
