Could you keep fighting when all hope is lost?
Two years on from the dramatic events that rocked Pittsburgh, Adrian Hell is retired. He runs a bar in Devil's Spring, Texas. He has a beautiful woman who's crazy about him. For the first time in a long time... he's happy.

But one night, everything changes. The arrival of three strangers sets in motion a chain of events that not only brings Adrian's new life crashing down around him, but also drags him into the middle of a conspiracy that threatens to take the world to the brink of war.

Faces from his past and doubts about his future compel Adrian to pick up his guns once again, to do what he always did best. With time running out, and with the number of allies shrinking by the minute, he must fight against a vast, unseen enemy to prevent catastrophe.

Deadly Intent is an epic, action-packed thriller, and a true blockbuster of a novel. With a cast of compelling characters and a truly gripping storyline, this is a must-read for fans of Vince Flynn and Lee Child!

Too implausable

This was just a little too much over the top of reality and believability. Adrian has been hit in the head so many times that his brain has to be encased in scar tissue. I found myself skipping ahead, bored with the theatrics. Sorry, but no one bounces back immediately from the kinds of injuries he has sustained. This is becoming cartoonish. Running off the cliff, peddling in mid air and going spat, may be fine if you are Wylie Coyote, but in real life that sort of thing doesn't work. Things need to be toned down.

A Scene One Hopes Will Never Take Place

Something like what occurs in this story is not supposed to happen, at least not taking place by the US. In any event, Deadly Intent takes the reader on as much non-stop action as one can handle. Indeed, the hero, Adrien, a one-man wrecking crew to say the least, has every US agency after him throughout the book and into the next book, #5. To his credit, the author provides a goodly amount of background for the reader who may not have read the first set of books in the series. I gotta move into #5 now!

Adrian Hell Kicks Ass Again!

Adrian Hell is absolutely one of my all time favorite characters. He never fails to entertain and impress with his skill and bravery. This is a well thought out plot with lots of wonderful characters and a few evil bad guys, some a real surprise. The plot is very fast paced, the kind you can easily see happening on the wide screen. In fact, this series would make wonderful action packed movies. At first I was a little surprised by the ending as it finished up, thought it was unlike other Adrian Hell novels, but it really sets itself up for the next in the series. So it all makes perfect sense. I’m downloading the next right now!

Worse kind of tripe

I can suspend belief as well as the next person but the requirements of this book are beyond the pale. Our hero first overcomes three attackers, then 8, then a whole house full and next he's faced with carloads of gun toting enemies which is where I gave up on the book. I can enjoy an action novel as much as anyone but when I have to believe that one guy with a handgun takes out and kills 16 men armed with automatic weapons then the book is worthless to me. This is an author who just writes ever more fantastical displays of fighting ability without much concern for fact checking, character development, story development or writing style. Unfortunately, I wasted until 48% to finally give it up - glad is was a freebie for KU subscribers and even now I somehow want my money back that I never spent.

Believable Evil

The main character's abilities might be a little over the top but quite entertaining. The plot of the story feels very real world though.

Believable Scary!

After reading this incredibly creative story of what could possibly happen, try to play "What if" and then see if you can sleep through the night!
