I love British humor and this book was a delight from start to finish. Wouldn’t it be nice to really have our governments do as Barclay was doing I lived Kira and her phrasing and take on life. This was such an awesome read I was sad to have it end.
Kira Murphy is a liability: always has been. She might be small but her personality and heart are not: a sexual health doctor with a foul mouth, pink streaks in her hair, a bizarre world view, a reputation for being ‘pathologically social’, and a huge crush on the current Minister of State for Business, Energy and Clean Growth . . . she’s weird and lovable in equal measure.
The last thing Barclay Lucas needs is a liability. He’s made it into the cabinet with single-minded determination, sheer grit, and serious conservatism. But then a crazy, pink-haired, tiny dynamo turns his life upside-down and serious for Barclay is a thing of the past.
But he’s never liked feeling out of control – something he experiences with Kira on a daily basis. So he pushes her away when she needs him the most, and unfortunately for him she retreats at head-spinning speed. It’s only then he realizes that although being with Kira is anything but easy, the grey, boring alternative is far worse. He’ll have to use all his hard-earned political negotiating and maneuvering skills to get her back. Because after being dragged from black and white into full Technicolor with Kira, Barclay knows that, however serious and worthy his life is, he can’t live it without her.

This was a interesting and extremely entertaining book, I never met a doctor like Kira Murphy more the pitty . She was extremely entertaining and interested in her patients. I loved what she told Henry Lucus ,Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you do it. The love story between Barclay and her was very entertaining.
Very funny laid back romance novel. I really enjoyed this book from beginning till the end. I loved Kira's character. She was very energetic, uplifting, and hilarious. Barclay and Kira are total opposites but there is a connection between the two. However, there are obstacles in the way such as Barclay's political status. Will these two be able to be together or will they realize they are too different to make their relationship work? I highly recommend this book to romantic comedy book lovers.
Such a beautiful story. Laughed and cried over curmudgeon stiff upper lipped Barclay and irreverent Dr Kira relationship and antics. The supporting casts are hilarious too. Highly recommended.
I didn't realize this was a British book when I first started it. I normally don't like them because my sense of humor never goes with the author. But this book was different. I have to say I enjoyed it.
I found this book to be LOL. I may not have always liked Kira though, but it's probably because at times she reminded me of some people that I know.
The fact that the author is a real life Dr. made the information in the book accurate. The stunning wit and dialogue made this book enjoyable.
Thank you to NetGalley for the free book in exchange for an honest review.
I loved this book and Susie Tate is one of my favorite authors. Too bad she can't write one as fast as I can read one (;
I was I. stitches the whole way through!!!! This author writes the kind of books that make you abandon any other book just to get a taste. I have been looking forward to Kira's book and I'm glad o got it. I won't even bother to give any summary just read it you will be laughing out loud the whole way through. All the stars for Anything but Easy
This author is a real-life physician, and the accuracy of her vignettes and details shows it. More important, though, is the stunning wit of her dialog and plotting; I was laughing loudly enough that my family kept asking me "What's so funny?" My advice to them, and to you, is "Read it!"
