“I didn’t find it weird. It wasn’t like kissing a sister or something. I realized that when you were video calling the other night I wasn’t thinking about you like I would do a sister.”
“You know why that it?” She stepped towards him. “Because I’m not your sister. Funny that, isn’t it?”

He’s been saving her all her life, but can she save her heart from him?

Rayah Maynard’s loved her brother’s best friend for pretty much as long as she can remember, which unfortunately is the problem. He still sees her as the kid who he constantly needed to rescue whenever she got into trouble.

Jonny Graham has devoted himself to his three children and his career as a firefighter since his wife died when his youngest was just a baby. When his best friend’s sister starts setting him up on dates, he realizes she’s not the fearless kid who hung around with them, but can he trust her to keep herself - and his heart – safe?

Rayah wants to prove to Jonny she doesn’t need to be rescued anymore. When an arsonist puts the safety of the small town in jeopardy, she might have to choose – the man she’s loved for years or her town.

If she can stay safe enough to make that choice.

This steamy small town single dad, friends-to-lovers, firefighter romance is part of the Severton Search & Rescue series but can be read as a stand-alone.

What a wonderful happily ever after.

This one is my favorite book in the series, possibly favorite of this authors. Jonny and Rayah are everything I did not know I needed, they exceeded my expectations on every level. Exceptionally done!

I'm finally starting to find my groove with this series and falling in love with the characters. I love the joking and camaraderie that they all share. It makes it easier to get invested in their lives, especially, when they make cameo appearances in each other's books.

Looking forward to the next story.

The Heat

Severton is a small town and just about everyone has lived there their entire lives. Rayah has always been Jonny’s ever-present help with his kids ever since the death of his wife. Jonny, the young widower with 3 kids, a demanding job on the fire brigade, a part of the search and rescue team, Rayah’s brother and cousins pal their whole lives, and the man who has always been there to rescue her from the time she was 6. Now their adults and the visuals have changed. They are no longer kids, but very attractive adults with real needs. Are they willing to sacrifice friendship for something special?

Love Love Love Jonny and Rayah!

Jonny has been Rayah's hero her whole life, but it takes a friendly date to tell him he likes her and he finally realizes he has for a long time. Rayah's been in love with him and his children for a while and can't wait to become Mum. Cant wait to read Jake's story!

The C word is not sexy

Every time a female writer uses the C word to describe female genitalia, she is NOT empowering the word. She is telling thousands of teenage girls that it's perfectly normal that the center of a woman's sexuality is the same as the most hate-infused word in the English language. Get used to it. That is all that you are and all you will ever be. After all, if the women who write happy endings can't write men who respect women, or women who respect themselves, girls aren't going to dream about them. Let's stop this trend. I have no problem with sexually forward and powrrful women and more realistic romantic heroes. Could we just retire that sexist, patriarchal, hugely insulting word? Most of us who have bothered to think about it loathe it.

I love Jonny and Rayah!

Oh boy! What can I say? Whenever I read Ms. Dyer's books, I'm not only treated to a fabulous story but also a tremendously hot and steamy one as well!! Jonny and Rayah <sigh> so made for each other! I loved this book and series and cannot wait to see what else she has in store for her particular group of Severton residents.

Slow burn romance

I love single parent and slow burn romance. This book has both plus a twinge of mystery/drama. Highly recommend and can’t wait for more in this series.
