I liked the characters. Each one had their own personality. There were some errors which should have been fixed before putting it out. Good story line.
Realm of Knights: Knights of the Realm, Book 1
by Jennifer Anne Davis
***The first book in a new fantasy series from best-selling author Jennifer Anne Davis.***
Reid has spent her whole life pretending to be a man so she can inherit her father’s estate, but when a chance encounter threatens to expose her lie, she is forced to risk everything.
In the kingdom of Marsden, women are subservient to men and land can only pass from father to son. So when Reid Ellington is born, the fifth daughter to one of the wealthiest landholders in the kingdom, it’s announced that Reid is a boy.
Eighteen years later, Reid struggles to conceal the fact she’s actually a young woman. Every day, her secret becomes harder to keep. When one of Marsden’s princes sees her sparring with a sword, she is forced to accept his offer and lead her father’s soldiers to the border. Along the way, she discovers a covert organization within the army known as the Knights of the Realm. If Reid wants to save her family from being arrested for treason and robbed of their inheritance, she will have to join the Knights and become a weapon for the crown.
To protect her family, Reid must fight like a man. To do that, she’ll need the courage of a woman.
Reviews
I adore Reid as an MC. She is super relatable, flawed and so much more then a pretty face. Not a whole lot of action in this book one, but I've started the second one and it seems a little more intriguing. Looking forward to it.
If you love strong flawed heroines, you will love this. Well written, world building and character growth on par. I enjoyed and I recommend.
I'm a sucker for medieval stories with kings, princes, princesses, knights, and maidens. Realm of Knights series is my new favorite. In the country of Marsden, Nobles' have to pass their title to a male heir. When Reid is born, the 5th daughter, in order to keep his lands and title, her father proclaims she's a boy. All the intricacies are brilliant, making me want more. I feel like Reid and the gang are fast friends and I can't help but root for them. Also, I appreciate the writing is clean. Well done!
Perfect for lovers of Red Queen, Throne of Glass, and From Blood & Ash! I really liked this series and didn’t want it to end!! I can’t wait to read more from this author!
There was a lot of really liked about this story, and the characters. However some of it to me seemed a little too covert and a little too disbelieving. I know the author seemed like it was trying for mystery and intriguing, it didn't quite come across as that to me, it came across a little childish and naive. However that being said, I really did enjoy the book, read it quickly, not sure if I will continue the series but it was definitely worth the read.
The book was somewhat interesting but it ends in a cliffhanger and I really don't like cliffhangers where they force you to get the next books in the series.
When I can not forget the characters that is a good book. Also, when I do not want the story to end that is a good book. I am off to #2 book. I would recommend.
