A new series from the author of the Moonshine Task Force Series!

Laurel Springs, AL is about to be hotter than a mid-August thunderstorm.

When the Moonshine Task Force is absorbed into a new entity, Laurel Springs Emergency Response Team (LSERT) new faces come to town, new love is born, old love is found again, and there’s a plethora of drama and romance happening all over the tri-county area. LSERT puts police, firefighters, nurses, doctors, K-9 handlers, and EMT’s all in harm’s way as they work to keep the area safe from any threat.

Emotions run high, passions ignite.

Come with me, back to Laurel Springs, in what's sure to be a wild ride!

Ransom Thompson

For years I’ve wanted two things - to be a member of the Moonshine Task Force and to be the man Stella Kepler can’t live without.

One out of two isn’t bad, or so I tell myself. Being the only K-9 handler for The MTF presents its own share of obstacles, but me and Rambo? We make it work. Life is status quo, until I’m called in to help with what appears to be a hostage situation and Stella is right in the middle of it.

This is my one chance, and I’m not going to blow it.

Stella Kepler

When I’m stuck in an examination room holding a hurt woman and a man with a gun, I do the only thing I can. I sneak out, call 911 and hope help comes quickly. It does.

In the form of Ransom Thompson.

He and I have known each other since we were babies. Our mother’s are friends, our dad’s work together, and we’ve always been friends.

Only, the last few months I’ve started to notice things. How mature he is, how alpha he can be, the chiseled six-pack, and the abundance of ink spreading across his body.

When I offer to cook him dinner for saving me, neither one of us know how that one moment will change the course of the rest of our lives.

It is a story that could happen to anyone. If you are looking for a story that has it all, this one does.

A very good new series that follows strong people.

A strong attraction between two people who are committed to make this town part of an emergency response team that is much needed and the people who intertwine in their lives.

started out good. longer you read the more the sex piles on. a little bit here or there would of been enough but when whole chapters are involved it ruined the whole book

Enjoyable read

It started out very slow but picked up. This is a book i picked up put down a couple times due to the slow start. But finally finished it. What happened with the abandoned property? It was a big part of the story and then was left hanging. There are several editing errors that should have been caught. I have read of couple other books in this series and while enjoyed reading all have lazy errors and a slow start....

steamy read; great start to a new series

Great introduction to a new series by a new to me author. The characters have a depth to them as they work as police, in the medical field or in other emergency positions. We get to know their families as well and see their working relationships as well as their personal ones.

This is Ransom and Stella's story and it is hot. They've known each other since they were kids but finally acted on their attraction although neither knew the other felt the same way. Keeping it a secret from their families in case things didn't work out between them seemed strange especially given it was hard for them to hold back how they felt about each other. A little over the top sometimes with steamy between the sheets moments and too much cursing in front of parents and parents in front of their grown kids let alone at work.

There is a small town feel since the story is set in Laurel Springs, Alabama. There's a lot of action and reaction and Ransom's police dog, Rambo, plays an important role throughout and was a nice addition to the story. There are secrets, injuries, crimes committed, advice, best friends, lots of loving and love. There are multiple storylines that are woven together nicely with a few loose ends. The story is basically told by Stella or Ransom in alternating chapters but a few other characters are spotlighted as well. There is nice closure with a twist at the end for the happily ever after. I wish the epilogue, which takes place a year later, went just a little bit deeper. I hope the next book in the series, Suppression, picks up where this one leaves off. I look forward to reading more of this series.

Teared up at the end

Loved this story and all of the characters! The family and friends dynamics were great, along with the dialogue. I love it when a story brings an emotional response from me and this one had me nervous, scared, happy, teary and hot and bothered.

Wonderful

It was a good story but I never could figure out why Stella was also called Belle. Trying to keep all the other characters paired up with their nicknames was also a bit confusing.
