This series is a fun easy read with good characters and storylines. The depth of each character is good with intriguing stories for each. Emotions are spot on and reel you right in! I couldn't wait to read the next books in the series so that says a lot!
Pippa
by Annie Seaton
When Pippa Carmichael inherits a house on a deserted tropical island, it couldn’t have come at a better time for her. Life’s been tough lately; she’s lost her job, given her boyfriend the flick, and now it’s time for her to make a new start. With her two best friends, Pippa heads off to Pentecost Island to investigate her inheritance and is surprised to find there is another resident on the island.
Reclusive author, Rafe Rendell, is not impressed when a boatload of women turns up on his island, interrupting his peaceful existence. He is less impressed when he meets Pippa, the sassy new owner of Ma Carmichael’s sprawling house.
Can these two live in harmony on the same small island or is Pippa's dream destined to fail?
From best selling author, Annie Seaton, an emotional story of new love, friendships and the unbreakable bond that sees friends stay together through the ups and downs of life.

Reviews
I thoroughly enjoyed this story, I read it in one sitting today, it is a beautifully told story, set on Pentecost Island in The Whitsundays, we get to know Pippa and Rafe two people who have been hurt in the past and both deserve happiness, I hope that you will pick this one up and enjoy it as much as I did.
Pippa Carmichael has just lost her job and dumped her boyfriend when she receives a letter that could be the making of her, she has inherited an island, an island she spent her teenage years on with her Aunt Vi, now she is going to make her dreams come true with the help of her best friends Nell and Tam off they go to Pentecost Island only to discover that she shares the island with a recluse, someone who may not agree with the plans Pippa has for the island.
Rafe Rendell has been living on Pentecost Island for two years now after moving from England and loving his solidarity, he is far from impressed when a boat turns up with three woman onboard, when he meets the new owner Pippa he is even more unimpressed by her plans for the island, and getting to know her is not easy considering how well he got on with her Aunt when he purchased his half of the island.
Maybe Aunt Vi knew something when she sold half of the island to Rafe, she always wanted Pippa to return to the island she knew this was the place that made her feel strong and good about herself, and Rafe he needed to put the past behind him and look to the future and his career. Their first meetings are feisty and it takes a tree and a long chat to get them to open up, but the future looks great for them both and I am looking forward to the next book in the series to see where they are heading. This really is a great story, a story about friends, true friends who are there for each other and a romance thrown in, thank you MS Seaton, this is one I highly recommend.
A brilliant start to what looks to be an amazing series. This group of women are embarking on an adventure, or perhaps more accurately, a huge project that has the power to set them up for years to come. Pippa is the first to meet an eligible man and is at the beginning of what could be a meaningful relationship. I am really looking forward to future instalments in this series to see where it goes.
I’ve read a few of Annie Seaton books and I’ve enjoyed them all. I can’t wait to read the next one
PIPPA is a standalone read. This is a part of a series so there are unanswered questions and it doesn't go right to the HEA. It does set it up for things to eventually get there and for more exciting adventures with 4 young women starting a new phase of their lives. At the center of the story is a home on an island off the coast of Australia. The island was owned by the same family for generations. The last owner was Aunt Vi. She was a single lady that liked her privacy. She was single and had no children until her niece, Pippa, came to live with her. Pippa stayed until she left for uni. She has two best friends that have been in each other lives for years.
Pippa's mother committed suicide when she was 9. Her Aunt Vi was her only living relative so they became a family. When Aunt Vi passes away, she leaves 1/2 the island and the house to Pippa. It is a shock to Pippa that she only owns half the island. What was her aunt thinking to sell 1/2 the island??
Pippa is a young woman starved for affection and the need to be needed. She has a bad habit of picking the wrong guys. After waking up sick with the flu, Pippa pops in the tub to get ready for work. She is running way behind but she is really sick. Soaking in a hot tub she is disturbed by loud noises coming from the front door. It is her current boyfriend, one she has been supporting both financially and emotionally. These two enter the bathroom as the "friend" is stripping down to a g-string.
She explodes out of the tub and orders the two of them out. When she gets to work she has been fired. The big account she was working on fell through and the owner doesn't have enough business to pay her and her assistant. So, she is at wits end. Then she receives word that she has inherited the house on the island as well as some money. So she packs up her life and with her two best friends she heads to the island with the idea of opening up a resort.
But life rarely goes as planned. One-half of the island belongs to an English gentleman that has no plans to let a resort open on HIS island. The house needs a lot of work as well as the overgrown home site. This story is about 4 women tackling a job most men would walk away from. It is a fun, interesting story. Now, to the ending. It is a series and new books will be coming out. After all there are 4 females than can't remain single forever.
This story ends as the series is being set up for future books. So, in a way it is a cliffhanger but since it does end with a happily ever after at that time, you can see where it is going, so in a way it does end. The adventures will take place on the island as they work toward their dream of opening a resort. So, you can read this book and just know how it will eventually end or you can get the next book and go along on their journey. Up to you. I thought the book was a good read and I definitely recommend it.
I was not paid for this review. I am not a writer nor do I know one. I am not kin to this author. I am a reader and this is my opinion, nothing more, nothing less. 2/17/2020
This is the 2nd book I've read written by Annie Seaton; she has done a great job at writing a good book; I can’t wait to read more of her books.
The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.
I loved the chemistry between the characters.

This is a very slow burn of a Story and so far no romance, it was left with a cliff hanger and it must be read as a series at this point. Outside of the ending it was a good start to a story, the 3 girls are fun to read about and also to learn about moving/living on an island. We meet Rafe and he turns into a loveable guy that hopefully has more of the story in the rest of series. I liked how the girls were all working together but built each other up to complete the dream so far.
So far it's nice, clean, team girl friends of a story. I look forward to the rest of the series and to find out what happens with the girls and well the mystery at the end!

This looks like a fun, new series. I can't wait to see what happens next. Girls with baggage, lost jobs, exes etc decide to make a new beginning together. They've been tight since their school days and lift each other up. Pippa has inherited half an island and has big plans. Could the recluse on the island stand in her way? Is the project too big for them?
I haven't travelled to this area of Australia in many years so it was lovely to revisit through the eyes of the author.
Great read, I thoroughly enjoyed it.
