I honestly liked this mystery book a lot because it did have romance but it was so clean and wholesome. The title is perfect because a damsel is in distress. The person that helps fit the pieces is a wounded warrior.
Pieces
by Mary Crawford
There's nothing worse than getting shot … unless you are forced to shoot your attacker. At least that's what police officer Katelyn Ashford thought before her fiancé tried to attack her at her own wedding. She never thought she'd become a runaway bride. Even worse, she woke up in the stranger's bed in a place she'd never been. Is it the worst thing to ever happen to Katie or the best? As head of security for one of the biggest pop stars in the Pacific Northwest, former Army medic, Logan Anthony has seen his fair share of damsels in distress. Even though he's not the soldier he was before his injury, there's something special about this tough but fragile woman that brings out his protective instincts. Katie knows she has to put the pieces of her life back together. She and Logan make a formidable team. Unfortunately, there seems to be no way to escape Katie's frightening past.If you enjoy a clean and wholesome mystery combined with a stubborn damsel in distress and a dedicated wounded warrior, you'll love Pieces, the seventh book in the Hidden Hearts series.
Reviews
Mary crafts true to life characters that have flaws and quirks, and feel like people you know. I highly recommend all the books in this series.
I really liked this book, especially the danger aspect. I’m excited to get to know these characters better when I read the Hidden Beauty series. Though this book does have a lot of spoilers for their stories. I really loved this unique romance. It was great.
This is my 8th book to read in the Hidden Hearts series and I’m officially hooked. I’m going to be sad when I get to the end of the series. All of Mary Crawford’s characters come alive on the pages and the stories just keep getting better.
The characters were well done––each spoke with a distinct voice.
The romance was well done.
The mystery was not predictable.
I liked it
A wonderful feel good read. I was quickly caught up in the world Mary created. Good as a stand alone, but best if you've read the series. I was given a complimentary copy of this book and am offering my own honest opinion.
I enjoy romances with strong female and male characters, and Mary Crawford never disappoints. I particularly enjoyed the multiple challenges the heroine overcame in her journey to a happy ending.
Love this plot and characters. A must read by this author. I volunteered to read a copy for an honest review.
