Even as a boy he wanted to explore the world

A short story with plenty of room to tell a good story. A young man with a good heart leaves a bad situation to explore and learn the truth of tales, myths, etc. Guess what? He does and along his journey he's able to help save not only his people but others as well.

Exciting tale!!

Another great short story by Christine that leaves you wanting more. The quick pace of the story had me at the edge of my seat. It also kept me second guessing myself as to what was going to happen. I really enjoyed this daring sea adventure and I am looking forwards to reading more of Christine's work!! :)

Explorer ahead!

Enjoyable fantasy adventure! Captain Jorah is an explorer. He has his own home but is away often exploring. He has quite the story to tell! Started when he was 14 when he met a girl in the kitchens. He knew she was different then but he didnt know exactly what she was. Then he meets her again now 5 years later....she asks for his help and can he help her and her people? Very nice short story and I enjoyed reading it. I think this could be a great series where he always comes back to her but I dont know if the author is inclined to do something like that. I was sad it ended. Cute book.

A really enjoyable fantasy story.

Capt. Jorah is an avid explorer and he's at his happiest being on his ship and discovering new civilizations, myths and legends. He tries to find out if what he's read or heard is true. As a boy, he became friends with a prisoner of his land of Muriel. She was his age, fascinating and beautiful and said her name was Natalie. She needs a certain object then she can escape and go back home. He helps her and she does escape.
Years later, Capt. Jorah is on a mission to try to find the ancient City of Larimar. He hits a terrible storm. He has his men get the life boats and orders them to leave. He stays with his ship until it breaks up and he's thrown into the water. He hangs onto a piece of wood as he watches his beloved ship sink. All of a sudden the storm stops, a beautiful woman appears walking on the water. He recognizes her as the girl he helped years ago, only her name isn't Natalie but Larimar. She saves him and brings him to shore and gives him something to keep him safe. He's not done yet, he gets another ship and is going to find the ancient city of Larimar with the help of something special Larimar had given to him.
Even though this is a YA book, I just loved this story and the wonderful characters. There is no sex in this story, but it's so enjoyable I didn't care. It's a make you feel good story!! I definitely recommend it.

A Tale of Bravery and Friendship

Friendship is a wonderful feeling! It can come into someone's life in the most unexpected of moments, and some friendships can leave a mark on the soul that time can never fade. That type of friendship is described in this fantastic tale "Larimar: Gem of the Sea." While reading this story, the reader can't help but cheer for Jorah! Jorah risks many aspects of his life to protect an unexpected friendship; aspects that many people would not be brave enough to endure. This is the type of story that can make a reader reflect on their own life and wonder... "What would I be willing to risk for a friendship? And what kind of friend am I?"
