Sweet read
Going Down Hard
This was a sweet read. Not too much angst and a good steam factor. I really like the characters in this series and I’m really excited for the next book.
Derek’s parents worked for Cassie’s growing up. There’s bad blood between the families, but Cassie isn’t a part of it, but Derek does seem to take it out on her sometimes. She is one of the sweetest heroines, genuinely nice and Derek has a huge chip on his shoulder even though he’s now a self made billionaire. They work it out like adults which I always appreciate!

This is the story of Derek & Cassie. Derek is a businessman. Cassie works for her father who owns a media company. Derek was the groundskeeper and the maid's son, who worked for Cassie's parents. They meet up years later when Cassie calls Derek and asks for a meeting with him. From there it's all chaos and confusion because of their pasts. They have feelings for each other, which makes it more difficult. There are many revelations in this story, with a whopper of one near the end. Carly Phillips knows how to keep the reader on edge. Can't wait to read Book 4.
Down to read this
Book 3 brings us the story of Derek and cassie. These two are the boy from the wrong side of the tracks and the good girl. They have a Lot to overcome and the journey is a good one to take.

Derek West pulled himself up from poverty to become a tech billionaire. There are some residual feelings of guilt and resentment. During his teenage years he befriended Cassie Storms -- the daughter to the family his parents worked for. Because she came from a rich family Derek was made to feel that he was not good enough for her. Cassie also has some guilt because of how she dealt with peer pressure. Now that her family's business is in financial trouble Cassie is determined to save the company created by her beloved grandfather. In order to do that she will have to go to Derek for help. Will Derek see this as the perfect opportunity to seek revenge?

Derek has a meeting with the girl his family used to work for. However he holds a grudge and wants revenge for what was done to his family. When he meets with Cassie he realizes its not that easy. She is genuine and not like her father and brother. Things between them get serious but will her family and their pasts get in the way?
