I loved the dynamic between Noah and Molly, and how she uncovered a part of him no one really saw.
It was a quick and cute romance and look forward to reading more from this author.
Focused: A hate to love sports romance
by Karla Sorensen
You know the hot neighbor boy you crushed on all your teenage years? Imagine seeing him ten years later and he turns out to be a complete jerk, then you know how I feel.
Our last encounter was awkward, given I’d climbed into his bedroom window to turn my unrequited crush into something ... requited. That day was bad enough, but things just got worse.
Noah Griffin turned himself into one of the best football players in the country and a transfer to the Washington Wolves— the team I work for—lands him on my doorstep. The timing couldn't be worse, because my boss just handed me the opportunity of a lifetime. And that promotion rides squarely on Noah's big, muscular, condescending shoulders.
He wants nothing to do with me, and the feeling is so very mutual. But for the sake of my career, I can ignore all those things about him that drive me insane. His eyes. His mouth. His big, big … hands. Until one day, we can’t ignore them anymore.
You know what they say about the line between love and hate though? They’re so very right.

So I’ve clearly been sleeping on this series. It’s been on my TBR forever and I finally got around to it. I’m so glad I did. Molly and Noah are everything you love about hate to love with a little bit of workplace romance mixed it. I loved seeing snippets of the sisters and Logan and Paige too.
This book was good from the first page. Noah and Molly had chemistry that just poured out of the book. When they finally got together it was a relief and then they pulled away. I was so invested I don’t think I breathed for a while. I loves the grand gesture. And the happy ending was so sweet.
I’ve been waiting for Molly and Noah’s story since I read The Marriage Effect, and it was worth the wait.
This hate to love/second chance sports romance hit the target and delivered a lovely story.
Molly and Noah were so good together! I loved seeing them older and able to have a relationship. They understood each other on another level!
The story was really cute. It’s a bit of a captain obvious is they seem to remain teenagers mentally.
I think there was a missed opportunity to really mind his character and understand why he was so close that and what was really going out with him. It’s like he just flipped a switch from being around her and that’s difficult to swallow.
I get that the sister story comes out in the series so that’s why the relationship with the mother and sisters wasn’t dug into. But I think his story should’ve been deep on this book.
This was my first book by this author, and I’m so glad I found this series.
Molly is the very essence of the phrase “never met a stranger” she has this ability to read people in a way that makes her empathetic, and genuinely kind. She is sweet with a touch of sass, and an incredible soul.
Noah is pretty much the opposite, everything inside of him has one focus, and that’s football when he’s not on the field he’s working on something to make his game better. He keeps his emotions barricaded inside his chest, and he’s gotten so good at it that at times he doesn’t even realize what it is he’s feeling.
Noah and Molly have a bit of history and it brings an extra level of tension between them from the start, but it’s undeniably clear that there’s more between them than either of them are ready to admit. The secondary characters added banter that made me giggle, and also some moments that tugged at my heart strings.
I adored Noah and Molly. Although they had a rough start they turned it into a friendship with witty exchanges mixed with heated stares. This had an exquisite blend of a tension filled slow-burn, witty banter, feels, and a family overflowing with unconditional love that I can’t wait to read more about.
Although I could see where this was going, I was still happy the way it played out. I felt their relationship was developed and has cute and funny moments. Not a ton of steam but pretty good tension.
