What colour death would you fear the most?
From the author of Movemind and Incite Insight, comes a collection of nine detective stories where colour plays a role in the mystery. Including:
Blue Bloods: A high school awards ceremony turns to tragedy when the audience turns blue as they die.
The 11th Killer: A serial killer’s hair colour could be the key to their capture.
The Storyteller: An arsonist is trapping people in burning buildings, just to write a story about the rescuers.
Black Death: After a body is dumped in public, working out how the victim died is harder than decoding the intended message.
Fear the Red Man: An incident with the Red Man haunts Detective Thomas, but may also be the key to solving a new case.

Praise for Robert New’s Books:
“A super sleuth” (Peter Lingard, Author)
“Thrilling mystery” (SC Karakaltsas, Author)
“Grippingly readable” (Sara Stuart, Author)
“Interesting and authentic twists” (Robert Sayegh, Author)

Creepy colourful stories

Colours of Death is a gripping book made up of nine creepy short stories, being each of them more interesting than the other one. Sergeant Thomas is faced with puzzling and terrible murder mysteries and in each of them there is a significant colour that will represent a clue key to the solving of the murders. I fully enjoyed reading these thrilling and action-pack stories written by author Robert New. He is definitely good at storytelling and knows perfectly how to keep its readers immersed in the narration. I strongly
recommend this book as the stories are short and captivating, which makes it a perfect read. The plot twists and the suspenseful scenes are definitely a must.

I would recommend this Author.

Sergeant Thomas Casebook: Colours Of Death by Robert New is a wonderful written collection of murder short stories. Each death is identified by a colour code.
This book was great, and while I normally goes for romance novels, I decided to try this genre. It was a good decision to start with this collection of murder mysteries as I was hooked from the beginning to the end.
Sergeant Brad Thomas and his team have to solve murder cases using colours, which signifies the method of death. The significance of the colours explains the title of this book and the important role each colour plays in all of the stories.
These stories holds your attention in a way that makes you think you know which direction the stories are going but you never really. Mr New created a unique plot that kept my interest and made me want to help solve the mysteries.
Colours Of Death is filled with fast-paced action and suspense.

Really interesting

Whoa, this was fascinating. Robert New has taken nine of the most intriguing deaths and laid them out for all to see. Building off the colors of the rainbow and a bit of black and white, readers are treated—and I mean treated—to some seriously diabolical AND painful deaths. My brain keeps flipping between horrified and unbelievably impressed. Lovers of murder mysteries with a heavy dose of the macabre will enjoy these short stories.

Good collection of stories

Colours of death by Robert New is an interesting and captivating book that is very original because of what all nine stories have in common: the role of a colour in the mystery.
I like books such as this one, which have many stories inside because it makes the reading process faster and in this case, I could discover the mystery in a single sitting, almost.
The stories are good and entertaining, with interesting plots and characters. I did not find all endings surprising but it is a good read, this is why I recommend reading it.

A crime-like casebook that I couldn’t help but love

I was immediately drawn to this one from the cover of the book. I've always been a fan of crime novels, and this one has a bit of a twist that I had never experienced before. Relating a color to a specific cause of death has an interesting concept, but once I started getting into the story, I was actually even more amazed by this author's ability to paint a clear picture with words. These nine stories feature just enough information to get readers hooked, and it really does read like a casebook, which I was mesmerized by. This collection was perfect for me because of my enjoyment of short stories, and even more so because of my love of crime stories. This set is an attention-grabber for sure and I was transfixed into the stories at a constant reading pace.

Excellent mix of murder mysteries

"Colours of Death: Sergeant Thomas Casebook" by Robert New is a really interesting way of weaving together the same characters through nine different murder mysteries. Broken into short stories, each murder has something to do with the color in the title of the story. However, they all contain the same detective, Brad Thomas, at the wheel of the investigation. Most of them have Sam, his Forensic Examiner friend/running partner, and his fiance helping him solve the murders. He also has other side characters that we see throughout each story, and it's interesting to see how the author weaves them all together. Each story is about a murder and there is a lot of science and police processes involved, which shows the author really does know his stuff. It was a perfect read for me because I didn't want to get involved in something really detailed at the time, but I also didn't want something fluffy or superficial. This book builds the characters while still keeping the pace fast.

Fun, fun, fun

But not in a Rebecca Black's Friday kinda way... Reading this book felt like watching episodes of Twilight Zone or Black Mirror., except these ones are pure horror. This is a compilation of nine murder stories surrounded by a huge mystery, of course.

Every murder mystery revolves around a particular color that indicates the way in which the victim was murdered. Pure genius.

One of the things that I like about shorter stories is that I can enjoy them fully to completion without having to commit to an entire book. The way Robert New comes up with so many situations in so many scenarios, and to that, you add the whole Colours of Death creative settings, this is a pager turner thriller!

A unique approach to murder mystery

This unique collection of murder mystery tales is an interesting read. Instead of focusing on a single whodunnit story line, this story focuses on a single character and his experiences as a detective. While the stories are different, they are not distinctly separate short stories. They share many of the same elements and intrigue while simultaneously focusing on a specific color that pulls the ideas together as part of a string of murders. I've never read anything quite like it and really enjoyed the unique approach. I also liked the focus on the character development, as I often feel that is part of what is missing in many mystery novels. I was worried that a "casebook" would lack that but this is not written like a casebook, but rather the material for the creation of one through experiences.
