For authors who are supposed to be best sellers I would expect better. The opening chapter barely gives you a feel for the character before it ends. The next chapter tosses you to a new character who can't even hold a conversation without her thoughts drifting to useless backstory. This was a no go for me.

Awful
Not bad, but not for me
If this book was about high school kids, maybe it would be more palatable. The characters are not very likable or believable. I was interested in the overall story, but seeing as there are five lore books I am just not interested in continuing.
Choppy & Juvenile Writing
I could not even finish reading this book. I got about halfway through and I just couldn’t do it. The writing is childlike; like a middle-grader wrote it. And, it’s choppy; it doesn’t really finish thoughts. I am one that loves magical fantasies. Most of these books that I read are very well written and in-depth. I like a series that has 4-6 books in it because then you really get to know the characters deep down. But, this one I just couldn’t even finish the first book, it was that bad. I’m sorry. I really wanted to like it. I hate writing bad reviews.

Well written and suspenseful. I’m a fast reader but I couldn’t skim over anything. I just had to know it all. A really good read. I don’t believe anyone could be disappointed
So far, the book has me hooked
I don't know what I was expecting but it turns out, I was pleasantly surprised! I love book 1 and am heading into book 2!! I just finished a 4 week reading fest of this 6 book series! I loved them! I cried, laughed,measuring angry, scared, the writing brought out my emotions as if I was watching a movie. The only issue I had was the sex scenes, I'm not a prure, but even I had to scroll past them!!
