What an original idea. This story was amazing and an original concept. Once I started I couldn't put it down. This is one of my favorite series.
Rose Petal Graves
by Olivia Wildenstein
Staying away from my lakeside hometown was the plan, but Mom died suddenly. Dad said she suffered a stroke after she dug up one of the ancient Native American graves in our backyard.
Creepy, I know. Creepier still, there was no corpse inside the old coffin, only fresh rose petals.
As we made preparations for her burial, unnervingly odd and beautiful newcomers poured into my small town. A coroner with emerald eyes and black hair, much too young for the job. An arrogant blond socialite, who lived to get under my skin. And a tattooed Native man, who wasn’t supposed to be alive.
By dying, my mother had inadvertently revived an age-old feud between the fae and the tribe that hunted them.
A feud that was about to tear my world apart.

“Rose Petal Graves is a story of grief, family, mythical creatures and tremendous power, with at its very core the most haunting love story.” — ASTRID ARDITI, USA Today Bestselling author of Olympian Challenger

I love anything Fae and this is no exception. It’s definitely the most unique Fae world I’ve read. There’s a huge connection with the Fae and Native American set in a present day small town. I was iffy with the combo at first but was pleasantly surprised with the story. Definitely going to continue on with the series!

Loved this book and loved falling into a series that took me far, far away from the trials and tribulations of the pandemic.
Reading this book was so refreshing with how original it was. It’s definitely not the same old, same old & I loved it! I love getting pulled into a book & this one definitely did that. I highly recommend reading this if you’re looking for something amazingly different.
Olivia Wildenstein never disappoints when I pick up a new series!
Catori finds herself home after losing her mother unexpectedly. The funeral opens up a world Catori never knew existed. Love triangles, the importance of family, and a cliffhanger ending have me ready for book 2.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
It was a good book. That being said I personally had a hard time getting through it. The story just didn’t have the gripping quality that just sucks you right in that I’m accustomed to.
This had all the elements of an interesting book. Native American characters, family owning a mortuary, and magic in the form of fae.
However, the book didn't live up to its promise. The main character wasn't particularly likeable or relateable. Much of the dialogue was stilted and unrealistic.
The author pluralizing "fae" as "faes" was irritating. In every fantasy I've read, the plural of fae is fae.
I don't think I'll be going on to the next book in the series.
I was unsure at first if I would like this, but I couldn't put it down afterwards. The story has me hooked.
