So glad I got this as a free read. I like a good romance like many others, but I could not get through the first few pages. I can deal with rough language in a novel, but this is filled with so much that I could not even get into the storyline. Terrible. To each his / her own… this was NOT for me.
Road to Peace
by Piper Davenport
18+ for language and sexual content!
Widowed young, Maisie Mann was left to raise her daughter alone. Now, nine years later, she thinks she might have life as a single mom mastered…until her car breaks down on the wrong side of town. All she requires is a little roadside assistance and she’ll be on her way. But when her help comes in the form of a gruff but alluring biker, it sparks emotions she hasn’t experienced since her husband died.
Connor ‘Hatch’ Wallace is nobody’s hero. The Sergeant-at-Arms for the Dogs of Fire MC has a bitter past and has sworn off anyone threatening his independence. But fate has other ideas.
Maisie has no intention of getting involved with a man like Hatch and, despite her overwhelming attraction to him, pushes him away… until her life, and that of her child, are threatened.
Is Maisie’s only chance of survival in the hands of a badass biker?
Will Hatch be able to put aside his past and protect a woman and her daughter at the risk of losing everything?
Reviews
I enjoyed this read. They story flowed welled and it was light on the MC side of a story.
There are is a tough tigger in there for some but not directly at the main character.
Such a sad but true story. Mental illness can make people do the unthinkable. Such a very heart breaking story. Love story was so simple. But most are.
His favorite mantra....I'll take care of it. He took care of his brothers in the MC, took care of work, took care of family and he put it all out there to take care of her. She could handle her own stuff cause she was capable. Yeah, he jumped right in and handled her and her problems. She needed it; he gave it to her. This book is hot, exciting, and had an issue that's really deep. You should read this book.
A truly engaging cast of characters. This one deals with a genuine issue affecting one of those characters—bipolar disease and it’s consequences. It’s also about family, by birth and by choice. It’s well written, well edited, and a compelling read.
Piper Davenport is a new author to me. I seldom read MC books. Rethinking that resistance after discovering Dogs of Fire! Even out of order these are a great read!
With Chaos being at an end and Redemption not really started, all caught up with Torpedo Inc. imagine my pleasure at finding Dogs of Fire. Looking forward to starting at the beginning.
I love the Davenports , both Mr. and Mrs. they're incredible storytellers and I enjoy reading they're different series. Look forward to reading more!
