Wild child Sarah Ann will do anything for "her people," including moving to Greece to help her best friend with her fledgling advertising agency, though she’s secretly afraid to be so far from the emotional support of her family. A Navy base full of hot men sounds like a promising distraction when she’s assigned a job in Souda Bay, Crete—just because she doesn’t believe in relationships doesn’t mean she can’t have fun. Then a chance encounter in a taverna with a sexy Navy man leaves her angered but intrigued when he walks away.

Lieutenant Carlos Mornaric is done with women, after his last girlfriend stepped out. Instead, he’ll use his year in Crete to advance his career. A hot, flirtatious woman in a bar reinforces his plan—he doesn’t need the drama. But when she beats Carlos at the climbing wall, her hard-charging personality tempts him to abandon his resolve. When she’s assigned to work with him, he’s doomed, and he dares to hope that he can become her people. But Carlos' career is threatened when he clashes with his commander over his fledgling relationship with Sarah Ann. Carlos suspects his boss is dirty, but never imagines it could endanger the woman he loves.

One of Holiday's Best Books Yet

Holiday just keeps the good reads coming. For starters, she always sprinkles details into her settings that transport me-- in this case-- to Greece. Her characters are richly crafted with relatable flaws, desires, and needs. In this novel, Sarah Ann and Carlos' chemistry is riveting and rewarding. Romances aren't high on my reading list, except for Holiday's books. They always come through--well written, great dialogue, engaging characters, and fantastic plots.

Best of the series!

I think this is the best in the Helios series so far! A great sassy heroine, a sweet hunky Navy guy, and a surprisingly action packed ending. I read this book in two days and stayed up way too late to finish it. I really couldn’t put it down. It’s nice to have a fun, engaging read that transports you to another place effortlessly. Can’t wait to read the next book!

Another winner!

What a fun story! An American woman in Crete to help her friend set up a company (said friend is the MC in Ms. Holiday's Helios) meets a hot young Navy lieutenant. Can it work? Both have their histories and their demons, plus, something's up with the Navy boss--what mischief is he up to and will it impact Sarah Ann?
Ms. Holiday is a very talented writer who creates interesting, all-to-human characters, ones with whom you can really relate. The dialogue is witty. The pacing is fast and tight. the plot twists and turns, but all of it credible and you just have to keep reading to find out what happens! As with the other books of hers I've read, Ms Holiday tosses in Greek words and phrases and provides lots of commentary on Greek culture as well, making this a totally satisfying and delightful read.
This whole series is terrific--most (but not all) are set in Greece--gorgeous scenery, neat bits of language, steamy sex, smooth, easy-to-read prose...a very, very good read and highly recommended!

The recipe for a great read.

Take an exotic location, say Greece. Add feisty Sarah Ann and once-bitten-twice-shy Carlos for a smoldering romance. Stir in likeable characters, sprinkle in a few villains for flavor, and don't forget a dash of humor. Blend well with masterful writing and voilà! You have a great read! Can't wait to see what Chloe Holiday is cooking up next.

Enthralling, addictive, witty...

I've loved reading all of Chloe Holiday's works, but the confident Sarah Ann and a reserved military man, Carlos, may have stolen the spotlight in terms of characters. I was immediately drawn to Carlos because of his charm, politeness, and his work ethic in the military. Sarah Ann, she's much different than Nicole and I've loved getting to know Sarah Ann better.

What's even better than the characters is the solid plot this story takes. Not being the biggest romance reader, this appeals to more than just the romance audience, but also the action cravers. This book took an unexpected turn and I couldn't stop reading, I frantically read until the end to see how things resolved. But no spoilers here, you'll have to read it yourself.

I cannot give enough praise for New Heights, it stole the show.

Great chemistry between the characters

"New Heights" is wonderful beach read novel, but like Chloe Holiday's other novels, it's deeper than a standard off-the-shelf romance. In "Finder's Keepers" she looked at two young people just starting out, in "Helios" she explored Greek culture, (there's more to it than yogurt). Here, she looks deep into the characters and the internal mental landscape that forms who they are. She explores their quirks and foibles and we see how the characters mesh. The romance was there, the heat was there, too, but the added exploration of "something more" that Chloe puts in her books set this one way above other standard romances. What she brings out is a touching story that makes you cheer the characters on to the very end.
