Love is a Lie.

As a photographer for the New York Post, Kari Martin was used to seeing heartache and scandal up close. But one night at the club… her whole world changed. Heartbroken and willing to call off her wedding, she decides a change is in order and moves from NYC to a small town in Maine, where the average age of the residents there is sixty (or thereabouts). She works to fit in perfectly, and tries like hell not to let anyone find out just how very jaded she’s recently become over the lie called love.

Jake Isaac left Texas quite a few years ago; his heart torn from his chest, and his mind set on being a bachelor forever.
Maine would welcome him, give him land to explore and a community to belong to. Getting a job as the coach of the local junior high and serving on the fire department kept him busy — and labeled him a hometown hero — but the truth of his damaged heart was forever hidden. No one would ever know just how jaded he was about love.

That is… until he meets Kari.

Short

It’s a short and sweet insta love book. I don’t mind them but this was a little faster than I’m use to. Great characters and a great story.

Love Again

Jake and Kari stole my heart. Being jaded and still finding love. These two struggled but found each other wish the story was longer and gave more on their relationship but still a must read

A good one

Very short but sweet. Both Kari and Jake have been extremely hurt by former spouses. Are they each willing to give romance another chance?

Lots of issues

Enjoyed the overall concept for the romance. However there were a couple of things I had issues with. First, when the basketball team traveled, the coach did not travel on the same bus nor did he sleep at the same motel. Coaches do not leave a high school boys basketball teams without coaches supervision at all times. Second, when the H goes out of town for 3 days & loses his phone & can't contact the h because he does not have her phone #. Really??? All he had to do was use the internet & leave a message at her place of employment or even get a phone #. We do live in the digital age so this excuse was way too lame & unbelievable. Thirdly, the first half of the book was dull & could have been written by a college student. This could have been a fantastic book with proper editing.

Couldn't Finish

I only made it 22% through. Too much blah, blah, blah. No mystery. Not action. No romance. Is this one story or three? I was bored.

Just ok...

I really hate books that are poorly edited. Maybe the editor has the title but oh my gosh...
To use palatable instead of palpable is just one example. Ali, don't use big words . You seem to be clueless.
The story has potential, however I'm not a fan of instalove. Too many loose ends in this poorly written piece
Don't bother. Too many worthy writers out there who care about their work more than the money.
