She never realized until she lost him that he was the only man she’d ever love.

Katy and Steven were the loves of each other’s lives until a tragedy and the fallout of Steven’s injuries drove the couple apart.

They share a son, but Katy and Steven have moved on with their lives, dating other people, and neither has seen the other in five long years. But when Steven comes knocking on Katy’s parents’ door after learning she’s back in town, Katy is forced to face her estranged husband and the love that broke her heart, and his intentions regarding their all-but-over marriage are soon made very clear.

The only problem is that as simple as it would be for them to walk away, seeing just what it means to move on and start a new life may not be as easy as they once thought.

Too Easy

Steven is a Jerk, and Katy deserved better. Why do Authors always write the women so pathetically? She gave Steven a Modellike OW and Katy and average, spineless guy for their time apart... who also happened to be her best friend in HS (Steven's new love interest/fiance). In Steven's POV, his thoughts of Corrine were always geared to how sexy and irresistible she was and apparently Katy just settled for come lump of coal that she had lukewarm feelings for.... Oh, and Katy's the unstable one who lost her mind and somehow Steven gets to overcome all... Well this type of writing for women stop? And then, somehow, it all gets resolved and there's some future for Katy & Steven. The POS needed to grovel... he treated her like crap in the past, said some messed up things to her in the present, and couldn't figure out how him moving on with her ex best friend was messed up and cruel; Especially, with how things were said and done when she finally left him to heal herself WITHOUT his help... she tried in the beginning, and he pushed her away... and now since he's all pretty, he gets to decide what happens, next? NO.. no.. noooooo

These stories are disappointing

Another great Friessen story

Katy and her husband Steven have been apart for years now. She had a breakdown after Steven's terrible accident. Looking after him, building him up, trying to keep positive, and look after their baby Fletcher all got too much for her. Her parents took Fletcher to look after him while she went away to take care of herself and get well again. Now she is back and wanting to take Fletcher home with her. And therein lies the problem. Her parents think Fletcher will be better off with them. Steven wants full custody of him and is also engaged to Katy's best friend from high school. Can these two get back together or is it definitely over? What a wonderful story.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

Empowering

Steven and Katy will blow you away with their empowering story. When Steven is injured, it places an emotional hardship on him and Katy. Katy is on her own trying to handle everything and when Steven asks her to leave she does. Her emotional state leaves her in place where she is unable to take care of her child and leaving him with her parents is her only choice until she can get herself together. Fast forward and she is back to take hold of her life and retain her place with her child. What she didn't expect was the fallout not only from her parents but Steven as well. Get ready for a story that will touch you hearts and have you pulling for Steven and Katy to come together and rekindle what they had and still feel if they only look inside of themselves. I voluntarily agreed to receive an ARC of this book for an honest review.

I really liked Katy but unfortunately hated Steven. He was very judgemental at times with Katy and weak when it came too his busy body mother (I have to give him credit through when it came to his nasty fiancee, he told her off whenever she would cross the line). I also disliked the way the OW was written. She was the stereotypical OW...a hateful b**** who was so insecure about the h, that she wanted the H to cut her out of his son's life and put her down constantly. She was also a massive hypocrite, I was in disbelief when she insisted that he needed to establish boundaries with the h's parents (who were the caregivers of his son) when it came to his son because she was always overstepping hers, inserting herself into the custody conflict involving the son. She was so intrusive that the H actually had to remind her that she's not the mother.

Great Read

Wonderful second chance story. Yes, it was a little rushed for my taste and there were a couple of story threads that I would have liked to have resolved (i..e. some backstory on Steven's accident, the falling out between Katy and Corinne, the extent of Katy's depression, etc.), however, what was given sufficed. Definitely a must read for the TBR list. I would definitely read more titles from this author.

Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher, and Lorhainne Eckhart for an ARC of 'It Was Always You' in exchange for an honest review.

Deceptive or not

I chose to read this because the review interested me. I am glad I did as I enjoyed it. The plot doesn't go into detail as to why the father had problems
