Driven is sexy. I couldn't put it down, read it in one afternoon ... much to the boss's chagrin.. ~ T.J.

One man on a mission. One hard-working woman. One bet that’ll make sparks fly…

Mason Falco clawed his way to the top through hard work, killer instincts, and sheer determination. But time is money, and when the owner of a farm refuses to sell the land crucial to making his latest development a success, he’ll do what it takes to convince the sultry, stubborn woman to sign on the dotted line.

Kayla Phillips is holding on by a thread, on the verge of losing the farm she inherited from her grandfather. It’s only a matter of time before she’s forced into foreclosure, but there’s no way she’s selling to Falco. His good looks and sex appeal might work on some women—okay, it works on her too—but she’s not about to sell to a man intent on bulldozing her family’s legacy.

A war of words turns into a wager—and Kayla’s only chance to save the farm. All she has to do is prove to the billionaire that he can’t handle two weeks of living the life of a farmer. She never expected the burning desire she feels whenever Mason’s around. But are his feelings for her genuine, or just a ploy to get what he wants? With her heart and the family business on the line, will she risk it all for love?

Please note: when the clothes come off, the bedroom door stays open. Also, characters use profanity, because sometimes, “gosh darn it, you big meany-head” just doesn’t cut it.

DNF Another western romance written by a non-western author

First, get the lingo right. Not something Googled and worked into the scene. There are no details that bring the story to life, the little things that place the reader "there" with the characters. IE: arena dust, scent of sweaty horse, etc. The story falls flat and on the boring side. Plus, what lady rancher in her right mind would decide to sleep with the hostile takeover man? Not believable. I'd say stick to writing what the author knows best - and western romance isn't it. 2-Stars because the actual writing, though the story was nonsense, wasn't horrible and the editing was good.

Enjoyable

A handsome, wealthy man, a Florida farm, and horses, too. What's not to like? Mason is trying to buy Kayla's farm in order to complete the development project he has planned. She refuses to sell, since the land has been in her family for three generations. In order to get what he wants, Mason wagers a bet with her, and he plans on winning. Kayla also plans on winning the bet. Will they both win? Or will they lose? Great story. I really enjoyed it.

Perfect!

I can’t say enough good things about Lori Sjoberg’s books. I appreciate her style of writing and that she is usually easy on the angst. I love her sense of humor as well.

Excellent and relaxing read!

This was an excellent read. I love the author's relaxed style/voice. The storyline was good, too. I'm moving on to Carter's story.
