Thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. The characters were easy to envision as I read. Suspenseful and full of twists and turns with a good ending.

Nice start to a series -

I like most everyone - even the one detective that I am not supposed to like. I think the author did a good job with a slow build up to the resolution - I know I had a hard time putting the book down when it was time to go to bed. Most of my reading is at night after everyone is down and it is quiet - I did a bit of daytime reading as well. Looking forward to the next.

Grabs ahold and doesn't let go

I enjoyed this book. It was one that I didn't want to put down. I liked the storyline and characters. I did find a few small areas that became dull or boring. This was the first time I've ever read this authors work and I'd like to read more.

Great first half

I was quite invested in this book through the first half and even beyond. The characters were multi-dimensional, and even though I had figured out some of the background, I wanted to keep reading. Suddenly, it seemed as though the author was rushing to bring everything together to reach a conclusion. The characters lost their depth. The story line became too predictable and began to tie everything up too neatly. It felt as though the author had a deadline to meet and quit trying.

Good story

I liked it better than a lot of the British crime novels I have read. The main characters were likeable. On to number two.
