They locked him up seven years ago. He’s still killing.
Executives from Detroit’s automakers are being mutilated, and all signs point to a serial killer known as the Doctor. But there’s a problem with that. Detroit Police put him away a long time ago.

Fiery FBI agent Abby Kane is tasked with figuring out how this madman can kill again. When she visits the Doctor behind bars, he swears he’s innocent and not the psychopath everyone thinks he is. Oddly enough, Abby believes him.

To prove the Doctor’s innocence, Abby investigates the case that put him behind bars and discovers evidence of a cover-up. She soon finds herself marked as enemy number one by the city’s power players. Even the executives who are being targeted by the killer want her silenced. The pressure only intensifies when Abby believes the real killer is connected to the automakers. Can Abby untangle the web of lies before she’s silenced for good?

If you like Patterson, Cornwell, and Baldacci, you’ll love the equally thrilling and highly addictive Abby Kane series.

Meet Abby Kane

After her husband's mysterious death, Abby moved her family to San Francisco, hoping for a fresh start and healing. What she got instead was a job with the FBI and a directive to solve their most baffling cases.

Rise up, people of Detroit

Character Abby Kane has to be one of the most incompetent FBI agents ever. Once I start a book, I stubbornly see it through to the end. In this case, I was sorely tempted to quit a third of the way in; however, decided to stay the course to see how many more people would be murdered during her investigation before it came to its gruesome end.

Gripping

Action from the first page. Abby is smart and tough. She's focused and aims to get the job done. Unfortunately, she looses some of her team while working a serial killer case, that may have ties to a case already solved years ago. Great read, nice smooth writing style.

Even free, this book is not worth keeping

The body count keeps going up, and the number of investigators assigned to the case keeps going down. Fat chance! Three investigators get killed from poor back-up and little planning. This is a mess that devolves into dark ugly and unpersuasive swill.

CORKTOWN - a Crime Thriller

I enjoyed this novel “CORKTOWN” by Ty Hutchinson.
The star character is a new FBI agent from Hong Kong, whom was the youngest graduate from their academy.
Abby Kane is hired in Detroit to help solve a case of a serial killer or more likely a copy cat.
There’s powerful people showing up dead + plenty of cover-up in the city with a history of corruption + scandal.
Naturally, Abby is not given all the info needed to solve the crime.
The characters are believable, Abby is a single mom, juggling motherhood + her job. Her nature is never give up til you find the truth, which puts herself, partners + others in danger.
Overall, a great story.

Fun read

Abby Kane is a solid character and relatable. Good book. Decent thrills and I like the ending. Be warned good isn’t always black and white, sometimes it is grey.

Don't EVER underestimate a tiny woman!

This is the second book I've read in the series! Reading out of order doesn't diminish the continuity....AND...I read it in one day! (Thank you quarantine).
There is nothing predictable in these books, other than excitement, great character development and fascinating plots.
Tomorrow I shop for book 3!

Bad Deroit

The negatives first. The author is very hard on his hero. She does get beat upon regularly. Lots of sex related activities. Boyfriend gets killed. The whole story is a little over the top. I read this book because the author had published up to the 15 edition. I will not read book 2.
